Public realm and new build multi-storey car park in Ipswich
Won in competitive bid we developed a striking design for Ipswich Borough Council which is inspired by the Town’s historic arts and crafts context evocative of the colours of Suffolk countryside. The new car park takes the place of a previous structure with fully accessible access to the town centre via an external lift and stairs taking customers down to the lower level. With a fully perforated golden façade wrapping around all elevations, it will be a memorable place for motorists arriving for the first time.

“It has taken longer than we hoped, but it is undoubtedly the finest car park in Ipswich. I am sure visitors and shoppers will love to use it.” David Ellesmere, leader of Ipswich Borough Council tells the Ipswich Star local news.
“I think it is a project the whole town should welcome. Parking is always the number one issue, and this will make a huge difference to the town centre. It is a bit late opening, but now it is finished it shows the town centre is on the up.” Terry Baxter chairman of the Ipswich Central team tells the Ipswich Star local news.
